Following the success of last years OLSUG 2008 at the World Trade Centre in Boston, OLSUG comes to Europe for 2009. The event will take place at the Wellcome Trust Conference Centre, Cambridge, UK at the Hinxton Genome Campus, home of the European Bioinformatincs Institute. OLSUG 2009 looks set to be an exciting event with great emphasis on developments since the last time the event was held in Europe 3 years ago. Database technology has continued to change dramatically and match the needs of an ever demaning life science community. We have also seen the maturation of the semantic web technologies, with the 11g database now increasing support for the standard.
